strope
february 2026 / plywood‘strope’ is a wall-mounted stool designed for NYC micro-units. when not in use, it hangs flat to save space. when guests arrive, it assembles quickly into extra seating—no tools needed.
made from plywood with a simple rope system, it's lightweight, portable, and intuitive to put together.
‘strope’ began as a response to NYC micro-units, where even small objects demand too much room. i set out to design a stool that could disappear entirely yet feel solid when brought to life.
through iteration, it evolved into a set of interlocking parts guided by rope—lightweight, intuitive, requiring no instructions, only use.
